History

First designed by Robert Cromie in 1932, the Eventim Apollo was originally called the Gaumont Palace Cinema, and was used for this purpose with the iconic Compton organ seating nearly 3.500 people. It was then renamed the Hammersmith Odeon in 1962 which is still known as. After a sponsorship deal with Labatt Brewing Company, the venue then changed names again and is now the called the Labatt Apollo. It was then bought in 2002 by Clear Channel Entertainment, who made a deal with Carling and renamed it the Carling Apollo. The venue then increased to 5,000 people and the stalls seating were made removable, then leading to its changing hands and being bought by the MAMA Group.

In January 2009, the HMV Group joined forces with the MAMA Group and the venue was renamed the HMV Apollo. However, the venue was then sold to by the HMV Group to AEG Live and CTS Eventim who have owned the venue ever since. When the venue reopened as the Eventim Apollo on 7 September 2013, Selena Gomez hosted the opening performance. Since then, the venue has been hosting world class performances in live entertainment and seen huge success.
