It’s 1988 in Soho and Michael Spencer is about to experience what should have been his last night on earth. Off the back of the incredible success of Channel 4’s It’s a Sin, Cruise is a sensational theatrical experience which pays tribute to the AIDS crisis.
Written and performed by the legendary Jack Holden (War Horse, West End; Ink, Almeida Theatre), Cruise boasts direction from Bronagh Lagan and a powerful electronic soundtrack performed live by John Elliot. A tantalising and colourful celebration of queer culture which will transport you to the vibrant streets of Soho and will make you laugh and cry all at the same time!
When Michael Spencer is diagnosed with AIDS in 1984, Michael is diagnosed with AIDS and is given the news that he only has 4 years to live. He then decides to sell his house and car alongside his partner Dave and they plunge themselves into a world of complete hedonism.
Following the death of his partner, the four year mark finally arises on 29 February 1988 and Michael decides to take the streets of Soho and live it up for what is meant to be his last night on earth, or will it be the end?
