Award Winning 90s musical Falsettos is a hilarious and moving exploration of the modern family during the height of the AIDS epidemic. Following their family dynamics and complex relationships with other characters, Falsettos is a feel-good show which at the same time, is extremely poignant.
Directed by the critically acclaimed duo William Finn and James Lapine, the double award winning musical, which won two Tonys for Best Book and Best Original score, comes to West End for the first time after opening on Broadway in 1992. Don’t miss out on this groundbreaking musical which has finally come to London!
Running time: approximately 2 hours 40 mins
Recommended age: 12+
The show begins with the main storyline of Marvin, a gay Jewish man who leaves his wife for his boyfriend Whizzer Brown. However, at the same time, other relationships between Marvin’s ex-wife, the psychiatrist, their son, who will soon celebrate his bar mitzvah, his lesbian neighbours Cordelia and Dr Charlotte also unfold.
While the majority of Falsettos will make you laugh out loud, when tragedy hits at the end, the show takes a more serious heart-wrenching turn.
