MOBO Award-winning gospel rapper and singer Guvna B, who is also known as Isaac Borquauye, is known for his inspirational, contemporary music which addresses social and political issues.
Born in Custom House, Newham, Guvna B released his debut album ‘the Narrow Road’ in 2008 and then went onto release over ten albums including his 2013 album Odd1Out and his 2015 album ‘Secret World’ which topped the Official Christian and Gospel Charts as well as releasing his individual clothing brand, Allo Mate. Guvna B’s most recent album, ‘everywhere + nowhere’ (2020), was met with international acclaim.
Guvna B has also earned a name for himself in the academic world and has been published by the Society of Promoting Christian Knowledge and Unspoken: Toxic Masculinity and How I Faced the Man within the Man. He has also presented documentaries such as BBC World Service’s Gospel Meets Hip-Hop and BBC Radio 2’s Keeping the Peace.
