Directed by Maria Gaitanidi, this adaptation of the Taming of the Shrew is unique and experimental in its portrayal of a timeless classic. Purchase your tickets now to be transported back to the 16th century in the Globe Theatre itself.
Daughters of the wealthy man named Padua, headstrong Katherina, the shrew, and her sister Bianca, are ready to marry. However, Katherina, the eldest sister, must marry first before the youngest is able to marry. Katherina is courting Petruchio, who ‘tames’ Katherina into being a more compliant, ‘ideal’ wife.
Taming of the Shrew tickets at the Sam Wanamaker theatre start at £12 and are as expensive as £60. The Globe’s Sam Wanamaker theatre is a new indoor theatre within the Globe’s theatre and is divided into the Upper Gallery, the Lower Gallery the Pit and the Lord’s boxes to the sides of the stage.
If you are looking for premium tickets, then these can be found at the front of the Lower Gallery, opposite the stage. There are also excellent seats in the pit, which provide an intimate theatrical experience.
The cheapest tickets can be found at the sides of the theatres, at the back of the Lord’s Boxes since they have slightly restricted viewing of the stage. There are also slightly cheaper tickets in the sides of the the Upper Gallery.
